    • International Sourcing Buyer

      Position Overview:

      The International Sourcing Buyer will work closely with the category buyers to provide innovative and proprietary products for our E-Commerce websites and catalogs.  The right individual will be experienced in the development of products and sourcing of manufacturing primarily in Mexico, China, Taiwan, and other Far Eastern countries. 

      Essential Job Functions:

      Develop and execute international sourcing strategies with category buyers to support department’s strategic initiatives.

      • Assessment of product concept and design, domestic and international market research, supplier review, cost analysis, and sourcing execution to include minimums and lead times.
      • The individual will work closely with category buyers and will be the point of contact for direct sourcing opportunities.
      • Develop strategies to optimize international supplier base.  This includes consolidation, expansion or shifts of supplier base as required. 

      Develop and implement assortment plans to achieve target sales and profit objectives for assigned categories.

      • Product – Summarize current key product SKU’s (best and worst) and why.  Develop level of product knowledge required to make informed decisions regarding pricing, vendor, terms, and product assortment selection.    
      • Review any previous marketing done for assigned product category and suggested future marketing strategies.
      • Summarize competitive situations including product and pricing mix and marketing.
      • Trends – Summarize product category trends including media trends (upcoming movies, concerts, etc).

      Monitor assortment plans to determine proper action required to improve performance.  Develop and communicate action plan for approval.

      • Financials – Compare sales, GM%, and inventory level to target.
      • Data Integrity – Execute all product detail, cost, and pricing changes.
      • Trend – Maintain pulse on the product category through vendor communications, customer service feedback, emerging trends, and competitive online/brick and mortar shopping.

      Manage assigned categories and skus to corporate in-stock goals of 98% and 100% on “Never Out” and new catalog products.

      • Working with Replenishment – Review and analyze numerical data and sales trends to determine proper inventory. 
      • Evaluate existing sales trends and provide projections for future needs.
      • Provide sku substitution recommendations.

      Merchandise and Content Management – Merchandise product on our E-Commerce website’s and or catalogs. 

      • Provide recommendations on product copy to marketing counter parts.
      • Review and provide recommendations on product detail, price changes, discontinued merchandise, category changes, and cross merchandising. 
      • Monitor and make recommendations on conversions, top and failed keywords, landing pages, and email marketing.
      •  Coordinate catalog turns in with the direction from Merchandise Manager in assigned categories. 
      • Work closely with photographer to improve website images and coordinate photo shoots for the catalog, landing pages and email marketing.

      Requirements:

      • Associate Degree preferred with a minimum of four years of retail, E-Commerce or Catalog experience.
      • Solid understanding of global logistics and able to communicate effectively with international contacts via email and Skype.
      • Strong negotiation and follow up skills
      • Must be a self- starter, able to work with limited supervision with excellent oral, and written communication skills. 
      • Strong organizational skills in order to manage multiple priorities and complete projects in a timely manner
      • Must be able to represent the company in a professional and positive manner both to the vendor community and corporate functional areas.
      • Must be Internet proficient and computer literate with knowledge of MS Office products including MS Excel/Word and Microsoft Great Plains.  Ability to learn ACT contact management software.

      Working Conditions:

      • Normal office environment.
      • Some travel required domestically and possibly internationally to trade shows and vendor meetings.
      • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours when required.
      • Some light lifting and sorting through samples

       

      Human Resource Generalist 

      Position Overview:

      Looking for an enthusiastic and dependable person ready to work at an exciting Internet Specialty Retailer. The successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills, developed written/oral communication skills, good work ethic, and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. He/she must be able multi-task and adapt to an on-going, fast-paced work environment.

      • Optimize web pages including copy, metadata, titles, descriptions, alt tags, and streamlining code for SEO
      • Researching and resolving HTML code and content, link architecture and navigation issues
      • Assisting in layout of web pages when required
      • Continually monitoring organic search rankings to increase traffic and sales
      • Analyzing website strategies and translating qualitative or anecdotal data into recommendations and tactics for revising the strategies

      Requirements:

      • Three plus years marketing experience including search engine optimization experience
      • Bachelor’s degree, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing and communications preferred.
      • Experience working with large e-commerce site
      • Ability to multi-teas, take initiative and drive projects forward
      • Previous working experience in organic (natural) search engine optimization
      • Knowledge of keyword selection, density analysis, reporting and link building tools a must, with ability to optimize web pages including HTML and CSS, JavaScript a plus
      • Experience with Omniture Site Catalyst and/or Discover a plus
