          Position:  Director, Business Intelligence

          Summary:

          The Director of Business Intelligence will be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive business intelligence strategy for our BuyCostumes.com and Celebrate Express family of brands (CelebrateExpress.com, BirthdayExpress.com, and CostumeExpress.com). This position will report directly to the head of Marketing.

          Overall role:

          • Provide thought leadership, vision and expertise to ensure business data integrity, timely measurement and thoughtful analysis of business intelligence. This includes among other things marketing channel performance, channel KPI measurement, customer file growth measurement, LTV predictive modeling, merchandise and assortment performance reporting.
          • Develop and lead the team that defines and executes multi-channel marketing programs that cost-effectively increase the value of customer relationships.
          • Provide strategic direction for tools and technology to support database and execution of customer relationship marketing strategy.

          Primary Responsibilities:

          • Define and manage analytic methods used to evaluate marketing program effectiveness, customer value estimates, and customer life cycles.
          • Manage a team of technically oriented business analysts who support customer analytics, segmentation, campaign management, merchandise and assortment analysis.
          • Work with multiple business units to optimize marketing spend and contact strategy across direct and indirect marketing channels.
          • Primary interface between the business and IT for all things customer data related.
          • Operating knowledge of US privacy and CAN-SPAM legislation; will need to keep up with changes in telemarketing, email marketing, direct marketing laws.
          • Planning, monitoring, and measuring direct mail, email, telemarketing, SMS, FSI, television, social, digital marketing channels and media.

          Job Requirements:

          • 8+ years of experience in direct or database marketing with positions of increasing responsibilities within retail, database marketing, technology, or a marketing consulting role.
          • 5+ years of proven track record in catalog, email or direct mail segmentation strategies.
          • 5+ years as an accomplished and inspired leader managing and developing talent.
          • Strategic and analytically capable to match day-to-day execution requirements.
          • Strong management skills with ability to work successfully with senior management.
          • Deep understanding of and experience in project management.
          • Hard working, dedicated, and ability to meet deadlines.
          • Detail orientation, a high degree of organization and superior time management skills along with an ability to see and attend to the "big picture".
          • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred, and or PHD ideal, but not required.

          Summary:

The Director of Acquisition will have great impact at an exciting time in the continued evolution of our organization. This individual will possess a thorough understanding of the online marketing eco-system, customer lifetime value and experience driving profitable customer file growth. The company embraces those who are innovators and want to be part of an entrepreneurial, growing, and dynamic team.  A calculated risk taker with a strong analytics background will be successful at BUYSEASONS.

          The Director of Acquisition will be responsible for optimizing all new customer acquisition channels - Paid Search, SEO, Affiliate, Business Partnerships, Display, Shopping Comparison Engines, and Catalog/Direct Mail.

          Responsibilities

        • Develop and implement profitable customer acquisition marketing strategies to increase sales of our distinct family of brands primarily through digital channels.
        • Own, manage, monitor, launch and report on new customer acquisition channels.
        • Analyze campaign and channel results to determine how to best allocate marketing dollars to drive profit.
        • Own budget, reporting, forecasting and overall marketing plans for initiatives to drive lead generation, customer acquisition, engagement, and monetization.
        • Evaluate new technologies or partnerships to improve efficiency and optimize acquisition efforts.
        • Insure flawless execution of all direct response channels.
        • Possess a complete understanding of the key components that will drive success and be able prioritize accordingly.
        • Be familiar with competitive sites as well as new and emerging technologies, marketing tactics, sites and media that will influence profitable sales.
        • Analyze and interpret data, including financial analysis/modeling for new products.
        • Communicate deliverables, timelines and obstacles to team on a regular basis.
        • Create bench strength within team.
        • Supervise, motivate, and inspire others to reach their appropriate business and career goals.

        Qualifications:
        • 5+ years of Tactical Marketing experience, including 3+ years of experience with Direct Response Marketing.
        • Previous management of at least 3 direct reports.
        • Believe in data-driven decision making.
        • Not afraid to fail, but quickly learn and adjust to improve business trends.
        • Strong knowledge of digital media channels: Paid Search, SEO, affiliate, display.
        • Deep background in customer acquisition strategies both online and offline.
        • Must be able to analyze, create, and interpret financial data.
        • Excellent communication skills with all levels of management.
        • Ability to make strategic decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
        • Able to demonstrate success converting site traffic through interactive marketing techniques.
        • Deep understanding of and experience in project management.
        • Hardworking, dedicated, and ability to meet deadlines.
        • Detail oriented with a high degree of organization and superior time management skills along with an ability to see and attend to the "big picture".
        • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
