Founded in 1999 as an Internet specialty retailer, BUYSEASONS’ flagship brand, BuyCostumes.com, is the leading online-only retailer of costumes and accessories. BUYSEASONS offers one of the largest assortments of costumes and party supplies for adults and children at any single location—online or offline. In addition, BUYSEASONS operates a private-label drop ship program for other Internet retailers looking to cash in on the fast growing costume and party supplies markets. BUYSEASONS, Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation (LINTA).


Jalem M Getz, CEO & President

Prior to launching BuyCostumes.com in 1999, Mr. Getz founded specialty retail company GMI in 1995 at age 22. Under Getz’s leadership GMI became one of Wisconsin’s fastest growing companies, and the largest seasonal retailer in Milwaukee, before selling in 2000. GMI is still in business and successful today, a testament to Jalem’s commitment to building self-sustaining organizations. During his tenure at BuySeasons, Mr. Getz has been recognized numerous times as a successful leader and marketer. In addition to being featured on Inc. Magazines list of 500 fastest growing companies in 2005 and 2006, Getz was named one of the four most successful people in Wisconsin under the age of 40, and Entrepreneur Magazine’s hot 100 list in 2004.

A long time advocate of the Halloween and Party industry, Getz spends much of his time working with other retailers and manufacturers to find ways to maintain the rapid growth of the Halloween and costumes retail market.

Dan Haight, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Haight joined the BUYSEASONS team in March 2004.  He brings nearly 20 years of internet and retail experience in operations, finance, merchandising, and marketing.  Mr. Haight has spent the majority of his career in leadership positions aimed at developing and growing new business opportunities and new channels for large retailers including OfficeMax, Target, and NordicTrack.  As COO, he has responsibility for operations, finance, and HR functions.  He also oversees the new BUYSEASONS Direct channel.  Additionally, Mr. Haight plays a critical role in driving the growth strategy and marketing initiatives for the BUYSEASONS brands.
