Account Setup, Product Selection & Technical Integration

1. Each Merchant must establish a drop-ship account

  • Sign the BuySeasons Drop-Ship Agreement
  • Establish credit line based on credit application and references. In some cases we may require a credit card to be used until a credit history can be established
  • Provide logo and returns information to be printed on merchant packing slip

2. Establish Assortment

  • BuySeasons will work with the merchant's buyers/merchandisers to create the most appropriate assortment for their online store. Item data file will be sent to the merchant via CSV or excel file to assist in building the products in the merchant's content management system
  • Data provided includes high-quality images, basic product descriptions, pricing, product shipping weights, dimensions, size info and other data

3. Technical Integration (this will require merchant technical resources)

The success of our program depends largely on a relatively simple but very robust technical back-end system to keep inventory and order information in sync between the merchant's ecommerce system and BuySeason's system. Nothing we do involves "manual" uploading or downloading of inventory or order information. The technical integration for drop-shipping with BuySeasons involves the passing of three XML messages between the merchant's system and BuySeason's system via FTP.

  • Inventory feed - XML message sent every 15 minutes with incremental inventory updates and a reset feed sent twice daily.
  • Order feed - XML message from merchant containing order information. Sent every 15 minutes.
  • Fulfillment feed - XML message sent to merchant with order status information including shipment information such as tracking numbers, cancellations or delays. In other words, we tell you immediately when we receive and ship an order. Messages will be pushed and/or pulled via Secure FTP. Full XML XSDs are provided which fully explain all field mapping and required data.

4. Perform end-to-end testing of all messages, systems and shipping.

5. Begin taking orders on your site.

Product Data Provided

Every product we carry has full and accurate product data you can use to build and merchandise items in your content management system. Data provided includes:

  • High-quality (1600x1600 pixel) accurate jpeg images suitable for image zoom applications
  • Accurate product shipping weight
  • Accurate product shipping dimensions
  • Basic product description including items included and not included with costumes
  • Item categorization (i.e. Boys, Girls, Accessories, etc.)
  • Country of origin
  • Care Instructions
  • UPC codes (where available)

Pricing

There are three items to consider for pricing. Product cost, shipping cost and handling fees.

1. Product pricing

Product pricing is very competitive and generally within a few percent of manufacturer list wholesale prices. Sample price lists are available upon request.

2. Shipping Pricing

All shipments are sent via FedEx. We will pass along to the merchant a significant discount off retail rates for each level of service. Shipping rate table provided upon request. We offer three levels of service to get packages to your customers affordably and fast.

  • Standard: FedEx Home or Ground
  • Express: FedEx 2nd Day Air
  • Premium: FedEx Standard Overnight

3. Handling fees

Each order will be subject to a small handling fee.

Note: There is currently no set-up, monthly or yearly fees associated with our program.
