Demand for Costumes and Party Supplies Helps to Fuel Growth

New Berlin, WI - BuySeasons, Inc. of New Berlin, Wisconsin recently completed an 110,000 ft.² (33,528 m²) expansion to its existing 360,000 ft.² (109,728 m²) corporate headquarters and distribution center. The expansion was made to accommodate the rapid growth of business for the 22,000 plus costumes, accessories, seasonal décor and party supplies that the company distributes to customers nationwide and internationally, and to prepare for the onslaught of business during September and October. Several local and state officials were in attendance for the August 3rd ribbon cutting ceremony, including Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Senator Mary Lazich and City of New Berlin Mayor, Jack Chiovatero.

“This addition will enhance our flexibility year-round, and will help to position our business for long-term growth”, stated Dan Haight, President & CEO of BuySeasons, Inc. “During the months of September and October, we will ship approximately 60,000 packages per day for our BuyCostumes.com and CelebrateExpress.com customers.”

As the company gears up for a busy Halloween, it is starting to see trends in orders for the most popular costumes for adults and children. Some of the leaders include Captain America, Green Lantern, Harry Potter, as well as Pirates, Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies, many of which are exclusive to BuySeasons.com. Also new this season is the Royal Couple costume, for those wishing to take on heirs and portray the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

To manage the uptick in costume and party supply purchases, the company typically hires 1,800-2,000 seasonal employees for distribution and call center positions. These employees are hired as a part of the Wisconsin Seasonal Workforce Coalition, which is made up of forty plus area companies who routinely hire seasonal workers. “After the Halloween season, we want to provide our valued associates a transition into other positions that may be offered by partner companies in the coalition”, stated David Karst, Vice President of Human Resources. “The associates that we hire for our busy season often come back year after year, because of the positive work environment and consistent employment opportunities.”
